@jt1001001 XenServer from USB is a great way to learn.

@DustinB3403 has a guide to XS off of USB, in fact.

@wirestyle22 It's made by Steelcase, which is where we get all our cube walls, desks, chairs, etc.

Yup, that's the best way to do it.

Every time that I have to do a lab project involving Windows I think to myself... how do you people manage to get anything done with this!

Every little thing needs special drivers, menus take forever, you have to remember complicated paths to tools and unless you go to headless the GUI over a remote connection is just so tedious. It's like pulling teeth to do such minor things. It's PAINFUL!

I know that if I was working on Windows full time this would not be quite so bad, but even so a lot of the basics are just so cumbersome. Linux defaults are easy. Windows... they expect so much for the simplest things.

Here is a pretty embarrassing thread for a vendor to have posted...

                                        https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/1519107-using-samba-on-windows-watch-out-for-badlock-a-new-security-bug

He's panicking over a set of technologies he doesn't even remotely understand. And running away from the system that is solving the problem!

Basically, the Samba team found a bug in the SMB protocol, it looks like, that impact everyone. So almost certainly a Windows issue. The OP seems to think that Samba runs ON Windows, rather than INSTEAD of Windows. His reaction is not to remove the thing that has the bug, he's going to keep that, he's just randomly pulling things out that the doesn't even know what they do and actively undermining his own security.
