Just emailed the local AM to try and get a disabled parking spot near my dad's house for him as he's constantly harassed by a neighbour when he parks next to the pavement to help get in and out of the car.

Methinks the discrepancy between systemctl and the Zabbix gui is caused by me changing host from localhost to the actual hostname of the server during step 4.

Plenty of fun with the family already. Wifey's folks got here day early, and we went to hang out with some friends last night. Today was down to my folks. Tomorrow, my folks are coming up here, and we'll go from there. Gotta love the holidays!

Looks like my hunch was wrong, but I did fix one problem (incorrect database username). Now hunting down the next error I see in the zabbix log files.

Problem was with selinux, which was solved by running the commands mentioned in Jared's how-to thread again.

I still see this when running sealert -a /var/log/audit/audit.log | grep zabbix.

**** Invalid AVC allowed in current policy ***

type=AVC msg=audit(1513571214.837:182): avc:  denied  { create } for  pid=2221 comm="zabbix_server" name="zabbix_server_preprocessing.sock" scontext=system_u:system_r:zabbix_t:s0 tcontext=system_u:object_r:zabbix_var_run_t:s0 tclass=sock_file

Despite this, the zabbix GUI shows that the server is running now.

Nothing is scheduled for today. I have stuff to do Tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday though.

We need to replace our 10+yr old BMC system - i'm not heading the project just sitting in on a hardware/networking view.
(and to shout at them if they mention VLAN's and blame Scott )
