Apparently MacAfee comes loaded on windows 10 Home? and automatically Registers?

That was likely some of the malware pre-loaded by HP. Likely this happened before you did a clean Windows 10 install.

yes, I did a clean install of windows.

Did you boot the device up with it's default install first?

are you gonna yell if i say yes?

No - you're learning. But from your question - we know you did. 3rd Party AV are not bundled into MS's installer.. that comes only from the vendor... so in the future, you know not to bother.. just boot from your home made USB stick, and you'll be golden, and the crapware won't be there.

So I should Reload with my USB stick I made now that I have an activated version of windows?

It was activated before it left the factory, but to answer this exact question - yes you should. This will leave you in a 100% clean state.

But wait - how did you make the USB stick? using some HP/Dell/Levono (I hope not) tool?

no, I used my work PC to build it ; it's a Nobilis PC.

      a what?

      Nobilis PC.

/sigh - why? because they saved $5 If they are really going to go that route - they they should buy NUCs.

I never find good deals on NUCs. Every time I shop for one, they seem to cost a premium over what is on the market. Nice form factors, most of the time, but they never seem to be affordable.

I can find good deals is just the parts ordering separate from each other is just crazy. However the price is in the $350 to $600 depending of the specs you want.

That's an "okay" price, but not great. I can get brand new, really nice desktops for around $400 without getting a NUC, and that's everything not just some of the parts. To get prices like that with a NUC, I'm normally looking at a few generation old parts that Intel seems to be dumping on the market.

Installing updates on a MS Surface that is just being stubborn with the GUI, so forcing these through with Powershell 1 update at a time.

It's progressing, but god is it slow.

LOL - crazy - @WrCombs left out the fact that the UAP will be on a private non-routed network segment. So using an internet controller isn't possible, as the UAP can't reach the internet.

She's in Italy on vacay right now, but she lives around the corner (almost rented my house before.) She's awesome and her roommate is the NTG bartender from corporate events. She is a hard core pro-cosplayer that has been on television on Star Trek specials, is Captain Kirk's escort on stage, "built" a screen perfect Impala from Supernatural that was so good.... that they put it on the show (so she owns the actual car from the show now), etc.
