Same reason that we use iPhone as heavy travelers. The reliability issues on Android are just not okay when your safety depends on it all of the time.

I have tried Android, IPhone and Windows phones literally side by side. Windows phone was good in theory but not in practice. Android is just not stable period. Because anyone can make an app well the over all performance suffers. IPhone is just plain the most stable everywhere across the board.
All phones have something that sucks but the least sucky is IPhone in my opinion.

I've had an over all pleasant experience on Android and iDevices. I rarely have the stability or lag problems with Android that other folks here seem to have.
I will happily use any device somebody will give me. If I have a choice, it will likely be an Android device... but that's just me.

I'm with you here. Never had the lagging issue with Android that other mention. Even my little Moto E (2nd Gen) was lighting fast when doing basic email, web browsing, etc. The only issue it had was the lack of onboard storage. I have a Moto X Pure now and have never had any issues with lag or stability. I had the Moto E for a year and have had the Moto X Pure for a bit over a month. Prior to those I had an LG G3 and a Note 2.

I had a 3Gs iPhone then switched to Android for 3 consecutive phones. I even gave SAM a hard time about carrying a silly iPhone. When it came time for a new phone this year, I went with the iPhone SE. I was tired of my Android getting laggy after a couple of months, then getting software updates for over a year after they were released. (My S5 was on Lolipop, and N was in Beta when I switched.). I also wanted a smaller screen, because I hate carrying a 5.5 inch phone in a case in dress pant pockets. It looks like you are trying to smuggle a pop tart. I switched back and I love it. Rock solid, and everything just works. I listen to podcasts at work, and I love having a pair of headphones that pause and work 100% of the time. I don't have to unlock my phone and fiddle around trying to find the right app when my boss walks up out of nowhere to talk to me. I also enjoy days like today when iOS 10 will be released at noon. I will download it with everyone else, and install it with no bloatware, no waiting on Samsung then Verizon.

Back to the Note 7 for a moment. I know this has been a herculean issue for Samsung but I wonder when the fixed models will ship...I am thinking, realistically, 1-2 more weeks, perhaps longer...I know that won't please a lot of people but I imagine they are performing extensive testing.

On what little news we have, yes...just the batteries...but they replacing the current ones with brand new ones and I imagine the bad phones will have their batteries replaced and then sold as refurbished....

I have my recalled Note 7. Verizon received them yesterday and shipped me one overnight. All things considered, despite the fact the flawed Note 7's should have never been released, I think Samsung has handled this fairly well.
I even have a "green" battery indicator so make it easy to identify the fixed model over the bad ones.
