      What dependencies does the agent have? Just for us curious types who will install it anywhere.

      Mostly Python 2.7, where do you want to install it?

      I've got a blank XS6.5 I can try it on. Should be doable. Time to break out the XS ninja skills.

      Use the RPM installer first, might "just work."

      No such luck. Maybe once everything updates it'll "just work"

        What error did you get?

        I'm about to fork this so don't respond until there is a new thread.

            It's complaining about broken dependencies. I saw that XS is on a newer version of python now, so once everything gets updated tonight it might "just work". Might have to wait till the morning tho... well, later on in this morning, after I sleep a bit.

              Fair enough well keep us posted. Knowing how things go, it's likely not going to just "work". Let me know if there's anything I can do to help!

                Oh, it's on Python 3? That doesn't work, has to be 2.7.

                  Guess I get to see what version the latest update of XS6 is using. Figured it's worth looking at while I have a system available.

                    Well boo. Wish I could say I'm surprised, but I'm not. Python version on a fully upgraded XenServer 6.x

                    >>> print(sys.version)
                    2.4.3 (#1, Jan  9 2013, 06:47:03)

                                Very brief synopsis: We are a project that is currently in alpha that does monitoring (and soon remote management) of servers with the intent of quite a bit more than just that. We do a lot of posting/interaction here on ML so that we can get everyone's opinions on features and the directions they should take, that way at the end of development (as if it ever ends) we'll have a product that people will actually want to use.

                                  I think that while it would be great, older XenServer is going to be out of scope, at least for a really long time, with Sodium. There are a lot of barriers there and a really small use case. Now the current XenServer might be a different matter. Has anyone looked at that at all?

                                        Yeah, while I had a system available I figured looking to see if it would "just work" made sense. But the version of Python is to old, and it's a huge hassle to get a newer version installed at best.

                                            Yeah, if I had any way to get my own OS installed it would've already been. Another server at WholeSaleInternet.
