hehehe based on ubuntu 10 years, that came days after IBM purchased RedHat so it was more like Mark wanted to get attention. you really should not have added it to your factors.

That said anything with XFCE is good for me for desktops and LXDE for small form factors computers like Pi or thin clients.

Its actually Upload default server core, when the terminal has gotten stuck for me, I have cleared the core and then upload the default server core to get it to work again properly without rebooting the machine.

Clearing the core gets only General, Events and Console tabs and loading the default loads all the rest.

Yes, it makes sense. Ubiquity and pfsense are not really the same thing though. Ubiquity is a router like any consumer Asus or whatever but with a much better OS. Pfsense is a freebsd computer with a web gui. They are good for slightly different things.

You could say the same thing about Cisco or whatever. All router hardware below five figures is kind of the same. Ubiquiti is definitely built better than any consumer gear I've seen, but the basics are the same. I've seen pfSense on the same kind of hardware.

EdgeOS is Vyatta based, though. Purpose built to be a router. pfSense is putting a router on top of something desired for general use. I've never seen a pfSense setup that I'd consider ready for production use. Most I've seen are worse than consumer gear because it's either unsupported consumer gear rebranded, or just old PCs without maintenance.

I don't see how softphone would be any different than "hard"-phone.

Are you conflating headset with non-headset? Or wireless versus stationary?

I was following your thread on MC vs SC. What about MC makes it more flexible for your scenario?

Cost, speed, development, support, etc.

We've already gotten better support for smaller issues in MC than SC provides when you pay an arm and a leg and it is show stopping stuff!

MC will save us something like $1600 a year, and provides some really nice features that we like. And seems to have a bright future. SC has appeared to have gotten worse, not better, in the last two years. That's not good when you are paying so much.

But we really like the insanely fast "in browser" connections in MC. SC causes so much delay that it is frustrating. Only a few seconds, but when you are trying to work, unnecessary stopping and waiting makes people frustrated.

I'd like to know what each one represents. ie; I presume Frontend mean Internet facing, but I'm not sure. Also, do internal MS Outlook users connect to a receive or send connector? (or both?)

You should change the ELHO name on all of them so it matches your external URL (Which in turn needs to match your Reverse DNS name).

The Outlook clients connect to the Exchange server and Exchange sends the emails they do not connect to the connectors.

While this was my initial thought as well, he has asked about doing this simultaneously. Which fog generally isn't "all at once go".

It kind of is...I was using FOG to do multicast imaging 7 years ago. We're talking 30-60 machines at a clip.

Sure it can do it but that doesn't mean that you should do it. It's about network performance and if you're not setup for it you'll encounter massive slowdowns

Mutlicast is the way to go. You can even do it over broadcast domains. It sounds like you didn't have multicast configured correctly? Even doing 60 machines we didn't see any network slowness associated with imaging.

I usually just copy/paste a Chocolatey install command that does it all at once. Everything else is on separate media that requires no install. Example, copy over games, import them in... such as into Steam.

I was going to mention... with Chocolatey tool choco list -lo just pipe it to a text file.

But that only gives you things installed through Chocolatey. Dustin's OP gives you everything installed through the normal Windows installer process (and registers the install).

I recall when chocolatey didn't use the windows installer process for everything - things are much better now.

It is package by package. Lots of things, through Chocolatey or not, don't use the Windows installer process.

I've not seen Chocolatey not register software installs in Windows, ever.

I have. Many times. Most of the time I think that it does, but it is not Chocolatey that does it when it does.

Try installing Sysinternal tools, it will not register at all, that is one example. You can do so with Chocolatey.

I never installed that stuff anyways. That Chocolatey doesn't is nothing new.

I thought you wanted to know which applications would do that, but I guess I read wrong.

I thought it was pretty simple once I got past my misunderstandings.

Oh, that's odd. So it is "free", to its limit, how do people dial into it? We have video conferencing with both NextCloud and FreePBX, and it lets external users into it.
