Eventually all users will be migrated, so, yes, we still have real users on-prem.

This is outside the scope of the original question / scenario, but I've learned a good bit during this process with much of that learning validating a few things I already knew, such as the value of taking the necessary time to plan, and prep the environment for migration (removing unnecessary objects, etc.).

You might want to setup an archiving addon for that mailbox or bump the license to E3 so they get 100 GB of Mailbox storage and then archiving is included as well.
4- YOu can setup a retention policy that deletes all items that is 2 years old and then apply to the mailbox and force the Retention Policy to apply then it will take a day or so but it will run faster.

Not sure if you misunderstood. I got confirmed that deleting any emails on Group Mailbox won't any member's mailbox items. Yes, did it that way, went well. Yeah, not an option for me now. Seems nice and faster action, than PowerShell commands Microsoft guys running.

I wrote the answer 1 in a confusing way. The emails don't get deleted from each user mailbox that received it so no issue there.

It didn't take that long but was just a pain. I literally just finished updating 10 PBX systems to point to Chicago6 which is what VoipMS switched everyone to and then all of a sudden Chicago7 came back online and they automatically moved everyone back to Chicago7. I had to go back in and change everyone back to Chicago7 on the PBX.

Did they not update the DNS to be the IP for 6 also?

No both domains pointed to different ip addresses.

That really seems unreasonable on their part. The expectation that all of their customers on 7 have to manually change to 6, then back... super crazy!!

The snapshot mode confused me because the term snapshot is also used to create what I will call a 'state' snapshot rather than a 'real' backup.

We use the standard ProxMox backups. You don't get a powerful incremental function, but the cost (zero) offsets that compared to the cost of storage for us most of the time. It's rare that we are backing up a giant system, and full backups have their advantages. So mostly we just can overlook the lack of incrementals, just not important.

If you really need them, I'd recommend a different tool. Or you can theoretically approximate them using a powerful compression and deduping location for the storage.

Are you using a Load Balancer or AutoScaling groups? If so you can just create a template to spin them off based on the AMI you created.

That kind of bugs me. I understand that it's 50 devices, whatever. And I've been using it for like 4-5 years now. But why is there no grandfathered plan for already existing members. It used to be like 10, and then they made it 100. Now they're taking some away? I get money and what not, but usually you get grandfathered in instead of just blanked removal.

I get having a grandfathered paid plan but a free plan, I’m 50/50 with that one.

yeah idk, it just seems to be not the normal pattern for services lately, but I do understand it's free. I guess maybe even a notification about the change would have been nice. I didn't get any information that they were changing it.

They use docker on a centos platform distributed via an ova. Licensing is based on events per seconds.

IF your intercom unit can be inside and you can hard-wire your mic input and speaker output from the SIP Intercom device, here is what we use for this same scenario:

Because it is parabolic, it doesn't have to be close to the subject. We install them about 10' feet away.

These mics are so focused, we don't hear any engine noise, only the driver.

We build a gable roof (roof only) over the dish and the roof has only one end. We place the dish at the far end (the capped end) from the vehicle. The roof is sized so the disk is completely up/inside the roof line. The open end of the roof is at the vehicle side of the setup.

The mic array detects sound from air flow through the mic element, so you have to protect the mic array inside the dish from unfriendly weather while still allowing sound vibrations to get to the mic itself. This is why the roof with an open end. We used to cap both ends and cut a 22" circle at the vehicle end, but, for the extra work, it didn't really provide any additional protection from the elements.

Eventually the mic gets ruined. So we just replace the mic, while using the same dish, mount, and roof.

Wildtronics has a weatherproof mono parabolic coming out sometime next year. When that happens, you can do away with the roof.

The black dishes are less expensive that the clear dishes.
