Lenovo snubbed “competitor” Microsoft’s advances when it was asked to sell the Surface Pro slab, the PC maker’s chief operating officer has claimed.
      ...
Gianfranco Lanci, president and COO at Lenovo, told attendees at the recent Canalys Channels Forum, “I said no to resell their product”.

Pressed further, he revealed that Microsoft “asked me more than one year ago, and I said no I don’t see any reason why I should sell a product from within brackets, competition.”

I don't know about you but I read the article as "Microsoft wouldn't allow us to put a root kit in the Surface Pro. This made us sad, so we said no".

          Good.

Lenovo's reputation is in the dumps, Microsoft should be happy that they aren't selling through Lenovo.

I have a Lenovo laptop right now for my job. It isn't too bad but the build quality on the Surface Pro's seems to be much better at least from my perspective.

Of course I visited the Lenovo table while at SpiceWorld to get my card punched.... so they called/emailed me afterwards.

I wrote them a nicely composed email indicating that in light of the several points of consumer privacy related issues with their systems, I could never buy or recommend their equipment again.

I was really hoping for some sort of response, but sadly I didn't get one.
