I like the Elio. Legally, under federal guidelines, it is a motorcycle. Unfortunately, most of the reason I got rid of my bike is because it didn't have much room to carry anything, and I like to carry on conversations with my wife when we're going somewhere. This doesn't solve either very well (it would be weird to talk to her in the back seat like that), so I can't justify it. 😞

I'm a big guy (more girth than height sadly) but surprisingly I fit in tiny cars better than most people. I drive a Chevy Spark today and it is huge for me. My RX7 is super comfy.

What year RX7? 2nd or 3rd Gen? We used to race the 13b and 20b motors back in high school i've been close to 200 in a 3rd gen

I've been following Elio for a while. It seems like a great idea, the problem is that, as previously stated, under Federal Laws, it operates as a motorcycle. States have different guidelines for motorcycles, helmet laws, etc. I know that I had read on one web site that they are trying to get them classified as cars. I think it's a pretty great idea and to be honest, you can't beat that kind of price for something that you can drive all year round.

But this is the one I would rather get 🙂

The T-Rex is cool, but you're talking about apples to oranges here. Open vs closed (w/ AC and heat), and $50k+ vs $7k. One is clearly a summer toy that somewhat replaces a motorcycle, while the other is a sensible yet sporty all-season commuter. Personally (just my own take on it), if I were in a position and geographical location to consider/justify the T-Rex, I would buy an actual roadster and not a dressed-up 3-wheeled bike. Like I said, just my thoughts.
