@Nic I've installed webroot on one of my friends machine, personal license of mine and told her to get her own when she is back from her trip. Today when checking the web interface, found that her machine is infected

I just sent the cleanup command, but wondering why webroot didn't try to clean this up without waiting for the clean up command. Is there any settings that i need to change to do an auto cleanup?

It looks like you're on the consumer version, correct? Generally that will ask before taking action.

I have always found it common that AV ask what to do, in case there is a false positive you don't want things to break and not know about it.

Also good if you wanted to test another AV product to see if it would pick up on the malware as well.

Things like Malware Bytes / Super AntiSpyware / Spybot / etc are much better at cleaning (assuming you aren't planning to nuke this machine). Use those first, get the machine cleaned up fully from safe mode. Webroot is better at keeping a system clean (once it is truly infection free).

After sending the clean command, the machine is clean now, nothing much to do! 🙂
