To do that I need to re-punch everything right?

Not for what I mentioned, just phyisical clean up. You'd need to repunch to make a HUGE improvement, but with some little hooks and ties you could clean up with is there without undoing stuff.

Don't do anything half way. So once I start I am repunching everything 🙂

Then plan ahead, get a weekend booked out and label label label...find what patch goes to what port in what switch, find out if theres a way to tidy it up (IDK if you have VLAN's on ports etc) then rearrange to patch, switch, patch, switch config, shorter patch cables, colour-coded if possible, and do it once, properly 😉

Monoprice.com search for hook and loop:
            http://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=5828
you can get it in different colors if you want to separate out your voice and data, by floor, etc.

I would use Velcro wraps. You can organize them and get them out way, and still replace cables as needed. If I were you, I'd just fake a fire to get everyone out of the building and unplug everything and untangle them.

I love velcro wraps. Look great, easy to use, no chance of slicing cables and you can modify them whenever you need.

Plus you can get them for a similar price to zip-ties.

Where do I find super short cables? Any suggestion on length?

@Jason Shouldn't they all be the same?

                          Here is my layout:

                          Punch
                          Switch
                          Punch
                          Punch
                          Switch
                          Punch.

I should never going going more then 1U away?

Your still going to different sides of the switches, if you route through a cable manamgnet tray it will need to be different lengths.

C2G and Monoprice are my "need a bunch of cables" sources.

@Jason It such a short run, do I really need something to manage the cables?

It looks so much cleaner if you put a trey in between the switches

If it is really just 1u away, then probably not with appropriate length cables. Anything longer and you'll want velcro/ties and possibly cable trays as well.

Cable ladder down the wall, velcro to that in nice neat runs.

                                      This!

That what we do in our IDFs (well our contractors, we don't do it). All of our IDFs have approx 480 Cat6a runs to them and then the IDFs uplink with 4 Fiber Pairs to the MDF.
