I have a VM just for CrashPlan for my house. I keep getting the error "CrashPlan has been disconnected from the backup engine." I looked around online and a couple other people had this issue and said that reinstalling solved the problem. I've restarted the engine, and did an uninstall/reinstall of CrashPlan and still the same thing. Has anyone else had this issue?

For a quick overview, it's a CentOS 7 minimal install with XFCE installed and X2Go server installed.

      Here's the screenshot:

Also if it helps, there's a ton of restart logs in the /usr/local/crashplan/bin folder.

Have not tried CrashPlan on Linux, I'm afraid.

Desktop is on 4.6. I didn't check the Engine.

It's not a desktop for those looking for attractiveness.

                      Yes, old and quite light.

Ya I don't care about what it looks like. I'll use it only if I need to change folders that are being backed up. The whole DE group is like 400 MB.

If you installed CentOS7 1511 you may need to open some firewall ports. I forget what they are without looking at their documentation.

Also @johnhooks suggestion of looking at the log files will hopefully be a bit more enlightening.

Ah, I have that reversed? I was thinking the firewall wasn't on in the standard download now.

Well it worked for a while. It was running for 15-16 days and it was at 33% finished. Then I logged in again and I got the error. Not sure when it broke in the timeline.
