The kids watching Back to the Future: Part II after watching the first part last night. They are excited to watch the third one tomorrow. They have played the Telltale video game of Back to the Future through twice and absolutely love it.
Now they are outside playing baseball.

Is he learning the desktop side or the server side of Linux? Ubuntu may not be the best option for enterprise-esque experience. Or is that where the ntg lab will come in?

Ah in that case anything will work.

He's doing an install of a desktop VM for the purpose of having it sit on the lab VPN. you don't want to put a normal machine on to the heavily exposed lab VPN, it's a bit risky.
