Okay. So we know that the wireless AP works because of the laptop.

There is no proxy on my home network. Literally a Comcast X1 cable modem with a built in switch and AP. Nothing on my network has changed.

Just because it works for one device does not mean it's still not an AP issue.

I'd reset the Comcast router/AP - if you can't, call Comcast and ask them to.

connect your laptop with another gateway, just to make sure that you don't have issue in your laptop, if you can access internet with your browser by using another gateway, be sure that you have issues in your router,,,,, ( maybe your router is blocking 80 & 443 port traffic )

Let me clear this up. I currently have 3 laptops, 2 ipads, 1 Nest Thermostat, 2 iphones working just honkey dorey on this network. I am having issues with 1 desktop that connects to the network wirelessly with a built in wifi adapter. I tried another wifi adapter to no avail. I even reinstalled windows 100% from scratch to no avail.

I will, however, see if the desktop will connect to my iphone hotspot.

Can the other devices on your network connect and share the desktop resources? or vice versa?

it is a good start to make sure that your desktop is ok, but i prefer to change totally the gateway, (if you can create a hotspot by using 4G for example not by your AP wifi), or the wifi of your neighbour
