So what is the current problem?

From the OP, he has a file server that can't see the 2003 DC.

He has a 2008 DC, has he tried changing the DNS settings on the file server to the 2008 DC?

Can he NSlookup from the 2008 DC to the 2003 DC?

They asked me to troubleshoot our pendant system so I'm going to be gone for a bit.

Has this issue been resolved yet? Or are they pulling you to look at yet another problem?

Seems like you need some support, one person can't do everything..

I'm with Dustin. Who is overseeing the priorities here? I mean maybe that really is more important, but that seems unlikely. Who controls the prioritization of requests when they come in? What is your supervisor doing in all of this?

Hopefully planning for a new server AV solution...

So everything is working now? Did you manage to make a list of all of the things that were wrong? I feel like after along weekend of drinking that you need to present a report to management of all of the messes that you spent the end of this week cleaning up.
