I think I have used one called "Giant Bomb" or something like that.
zedge is another

I think I used http://www.moviesoundclips.net/ a very long time ago.

There is a way to open specific files from PC games that allows you to extract sounds.
That's how I got my BF1942 ring tone, submarine ping and UT04 Weapon spawn sms sound.

EDIT: ^ probably not that helpful but might give you some inspiration

I went and downloaded clips that I wanted from random internet sites years before this stuff was centralized in places like Zedge.

Yeah the problem with that, when you search for free sounds you end up at all kinds of sites that want to infect the <moderated> out of your machine.
