I think ours is done by Interstate Batteries. But Safety/Maintenance handle all that.

We know those guys. Probably a good vendor to go with.

I'm pretty certain places like Battery+ have recycling programs, but how many are you talking about here?

Most metal recycling facilities will pay you cash by weight for them. You usually get $10-20 for lead acid. I am not sure what you get per battery for gel batteries, but I dropped off some UPS(es) at my local recylcler and got over a $100.

Local metal recycling facility just gave us $80 for all our old batteries.

How many batteries and what size were these?

The sizes varied as they were from different units. The company had a pile of old ones, because they didn't know what to do with them. I think it was around 60.

That is a lot of batteries, I bet that was fun to haul from storage to your car to the scrap yard. . . . NOT!

It wasn't bad. Hitched a trailer and took it over. The recycling center is only 3 minutes away. Didn't even have to unload anything.

Yeah most places will unload it for you.

If you're in a curious mood split apart the laptop batteries and play with the 18650s inside. I highly recommend you read about them first, but damn are they awesome fun.
