        Wow...

So this basically just means that MS and Google, etc have to get sued and then to go court to show this patent can't actually be a real patent due to prior art and get it dismissed, and probably spend millions doing so.

Yep, just ask all of Edison's staff that actually invented all the stuff he patented.

Patents and inventors are completely unrelated according to the US

That fact doesn't make Edison not an arsehole. In fact, he's one of the biggest pieces of sh!t ever to be revered by American society.

The biggest goes to Columbus, IMO.

I guess genocide does edge out killing animals to discredit your competition... but not by a huge margin.

I'd guess that Columbus just had more opportunity for genocide. I'm pretty sure Edison would have used that should he have had ample opportunity.

That would have been his next logical step in screwing over Tesla.... kill kittens -> puppies -> horses -> elephants -> brown people. As long as he wins, right?

                                      Wow...

wtf is wrong with the patent office? Granted a patent on "out of office" email submitted in 2010!

The patent office is mostly a scam.

Yep, just ask all of Edison's staff that actually invented all the stuff he patented.

If he had only lived long enough, other people would have lived less.

I'm pretty sure there is a table in hell where Edison, Columbus and Andrew Jackson are drinking terrible beer together.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that ML just hit its record busiest day on views.

Don't forget Henry Ford who promoted a lot of the ideas that Hitler took to fruition. Hitler was worse, clearly, but mostly only because he wasn't an impotent chick shit and because he was later, but Hitler was really following to the words of Ford in a lot of regards. But no one (basically) reveres Hitler, but loads of people think that Ford was awesome. That anyone would dare keep his name on a company today shows how much people disregard the things that he wanted to happen in his lifetime.
