I am currently running into some issues where the professors here are not bringing their laptops to the scheduled maintenance times I have set aside for them. I am trying to figure out a way to make a form or ticket that I can go through a checklist where the user and machine are documented and then what was done at that time, clear cache, updates to Windows, Apps, etc. This way when they complain to my boss about this or that not working I can show my manager the last time I was actually able to update their machines.

Anyone have something like this already set up? Or can you kick me in the right direction?

      TIA

        I don't have anything setup.

But I'd implement chocolatey for all of generic brand software updating, schedule it for weekly, script a cache cleanup as well and for windows updates, just use WSUS (it has reporting).

Have you looked at Snipe-IT? Or how about just opening a ticket when you do work on a system. Open it with tasks to complete and close it when you've completed what needs to be done.

I imagine you could use SW for this. Create a form with the necessary fields on the SW portal that would create a certain kind of ticket that would log the maintenance that you do on a device. Then just close it when either you are done or you return the equipment to the professor.

The only issue I see with that is anyone who is logged in can 'submit' the form.

What? He mentioned Spiceworks in the post. So I assumed he has Spiceworks deployed I know Spiceworks since I've used it before. Suggested a free solution that he could have done by the end of the day today.

Completely missed that part of the title for some reason.

@wls-itguy Lots of different ways to do this. The last thing I saw was using Google forms to do it. It would work nice.

I'd like to do it in Spiceworks as that is our ticketing system. It would be nice to input what was updated via text box or something like that and have it attached to the user and/or pc the maintenance was done for/on.
