I don't usually do a self-promo unless I am hocking my overstock/used phones, but I have talked with a couple guys here on ML about Skype For Business and Microsoft Cloud PBX then @EddieJennings started a convo about desktop apps and it got me thinking...

Right now we have made some big investments to offer commercial UC apps as well as integration for Office 365, Active Directory and Cloud AD. We run across this a lot, and Microsoft is killing Skype for Business, so we made the leap.

Right now I feel like we are inbetween your FreePBX/Vultr scenario and your RingCentral-type providers. Here is where I see the difference:

      • You can bring your own minutes to our platform if you choose
      • We are Geo-redunant in Terramark and Equinix data centers
      • We can provide billing and services to the US, UK and parts ofEurope
      • For large situations like hospitals we have MPLS or SBC solutions
      • We have perimeter border controllers, so no firewall/banning to worry about

      P.S.
Something I have been curious about is whether there is any market for connecting to individual FreePBX installations. Unfortunately this would require you to bring your own premise or Cloud Session Border Controller. I havent looked but its possible Sangoma's SBC would work.

So I am curious if there would be interest in that, and obviously if anyone is looking at Cloud PBX and Office 365 this is a total and shameless self promotion...

Can you do what you do for under $20 per phone? (or under $30 after taxes) Can you do that without a long term contract?

Knowing your bill already @Mike-Davis I can say it would be about 60% (taxes included).

It was a big upfront investment and volume commitment to get the costs in line. I hate to post pricing, but I hate more when vendors beat around the bush about pricing!

            Bring your own voice pricing..

            • $10 is where a Full UC seat starts, and gets way cheaper depending on volume
            • $5 is where you Enterprise PBX seat starts and it goes down from there, go still has some great features over FreePBX

So look at a 10 phone deal:

            Nextiva: Probably $300/month
            FreePBX: Probably $5/month + Hour of Labor ($85?) + Voice at $10? So $100/Month
            Ulingo PBX: $50/month No maintenance + $10 is $60/Month
            Ulingo PBX + UC Apps: $100/month + $10/Month is $110/Month

So at 100 Phone Deal similar to @EddieJennings

            Nextiva: Probably $2500/month
            FreePBX: Probably $5/month + Hour of Labor ($85?) + Voice at $195? So $285/Month
            Ulingo PBX: $400/month No maintenance + $195 is $595/Month
            Ulingo PBX + UC Apps: $700/month + $195/Month is $895/Month

So its fair to say that in certain situations we could be better or worst than FreePBX. In larger deals I would try to take the voice onto our network so we can cut the price down lower.

We bring the geo-redundancy, maintenance, UC apps and integrations, etc. On the other hand with a FreePBX/Vultr setup and DNS SRV records you could rapidly restore server and you are always in full control.

Based roughly on voice cost @EddieJennings shared after moving to FreePBX.

I think he was up around $800 on his old system. Just looking at it from all angles.

So the 100 phone deal = 100 handsets?
The $195 would cover cost of the voice traffic?

That’s @EddieJennings actual voice minute numbers. I can’t remember but I think he has more than 100 phones.

100 users (with voicemail and an extension) could be more handsets (break room phones, soft phones, a second phone at a home office for the same user)

Not sure how Nextiva or Ring Central handles it.

Those are trivial numbers to hit. Even on month to month.

Yeah to answer @Mike-Davis's question we don't usually do a contract unless new phones other hardware is included.
