      Do the dead have any rights? Who has the rights to the biometric identities and the data and possessions of the dead? Apparently, the government gets all of that in the US, with or without laws to make it so. US police now physically compelling the dead to biometrically unlock their own devices so that the police can harvest their data.

        This is where systems that detect life, like heart beat biometics, are nice. They automatically stop working upon death.

          Guess I'll be changing my iPhone to not use my fingerprint.

            That’s a bit of a click bait.

            The iPhone automatically requires password after two days or after power reset. So it is not an automatic get me in method.

            I am not sure about android device settings but I would assume it is similar.
