      Interesting article on ZDNet today.

      http://www.zdnet.com/why-microsoft-loves-linux-7000035218/?s_cid=e539&ttag=e539&ftag=TRE17cfd61

      Key points:

      • 20% of all servers on Azure on Linux based (I thought the number would be higher)
      • Azure doesn't support Redhad Linux
      • Microsoft is the 5th largest code contributor to the Linux Kernel. This isn't really news but something interesting to say the least.
      • ZDNet comments are as bad as ever.

Not too surprising that Azure is primarily Windows - it's the Windows platform cloud. People choose it specifically for that purpose. NTG, for example, runs Linux on Rackspace and Windows on Azure for a variety of reasons. Windows on Azure makes tons of sense.

Interesting. I agree with Scott. Azure is the Windows platform, and things like Rackspace are more the Linux side.
