      sucks..

      what is call flip option?

It is a variation of blind transfer. Example scenario: You are speaking on the phone at your desk and you need to leave the building. You press a soft key on your desk phone and your smartphone starts ringing. Since it was some sort of a blind transfer, when you answer the call on your smart phone, the call becomes live on the smartphone and disconnects from the desk phone. the person on the other end of the call does not hear any hold music or tones during the flip.

and that's different from a blind transfer how?

He clearly stated that. No hold music or anything which is what you hear during a blind transfer typically or ringing

I've never heard of this before as a single button like this with no "hold" or ring or something.

Looking it up, it seems to be a Ring Central thing.

I've never heard of this being requsted. Even from Ring Central customers.

So let me ask you @JasGot, where are you pulling this from? Based on the name, I assume from Ring Central as no one wants to use the same name as a competitor.

                Have you seen this elsewhere?

Why are you asking for this feature?

Asterisk could certainly do it, as it is simply making an outbound call and then adding it to your existing call bridge. Not a lot different than click to call functionality that peeople use all the time.

This is an Intermedia feature for sure. We have many customers with Intermedia phone service and the younger "on the go" types love this feature.

I've use it myself, and I have to admit, it is pretty sweet to grab my cell in one hand, then on the desk phone... hit the flip soft button that is always there during the call, and then just answer my cell, and the other party is there. Unless they are paying close attention to the tell-tale sounds people like us hear on a phone call, they have no idea you just flipped their call to your cell. Hang up the desk phone, and walk away! You can flip it back too.

Very handy when you are on the phone with someone and you need to leave the office and either don't want to interrupt the conversation, or don't want them to know you walked away from your desk.

Not arguing it is an interesting feature. I can see how to do it with Asterisk. Just never heard of it at all.

Mind doing a quick write-up of this Jared? I could see a use for this for us internally.

It will not be quick. This is something I can envision in my head. But it will take a custom context to implement. I know other thing that do similar silent bridging. So it would be a matter of taking those apart and reimplementing.

@JasGot You can write to support@vitalpbx.com in case you get banned by the VitalPBX's forum or if you have any kind of license, and you present some issue with the add-ons or the core system.
