I need to get a specific toll free number. I've determined it is available.

Do any of you know of a place where I can register it, and then forward it to my regular number. The sites I have found so far appear to be charging an annual fee and calling plan fees, as if they were themselves a full service provider. I understand why this is; but I am looking for providers you may use that are better than others.

And Skyetel, for example, can't get it for you directly?

I haven't called them yet. There is no method in their portal. I'll give them a call and report back.

You can do this with voip.ms. Register the 800 number with them and then in the portal you can forward it to a different number. We do that with one of ours at the moment :

Just set the routing of the 800 number to FWD and enter the number to forward to. As far as I know there is no restrictions on what number you can forward to.

@BraswellJay The hard part is getting a specific number, not the call routing.

You have to request it. There is no automated form for it to my knowledge.

Looks like there is a form when you click that link.

But notice the last sentence. jsut because you see it available, does not mean it actually is available.

I called them. Even though they have no ability through their portal, they can do it from their end. It took about two minutes. My numbers are up and running.

This is ideal, not only because it was so easy, but I do enjoy having all my numbers in one place! Thanks @scottalanmiller

Thanks @JaredBusch that works just like Skyetel, you have to call them. It was easy peasy. Good to know that voip.ms can do it too!
