So I am getting spammed by IBM (via their Softlayer division) for weeks now. They keep sending me emails without any option to opt out of them. I am not impressed in the least. They require that I call them or otherwise manually reach out to them to stop the emails. They claim that my email address has been associated with an account there, some company I have never even heard from.

Completely unprofessional. I can't believe that IBM would just have a system where anyone can enter my email address and make their systems email me constantly without my permission.

Anyone heard of some company called Cloud Wrangler? Apparently that company decided to list me as their representative without consulting with me. And IBM just took the details and started using it to send me emails every few minutes without any means of unsubscribing.

IBM tracked it down to Verecloud. Verecloud renamed themselves to Cloud Wrangler and put me as a contact on the account. IBM has no means of me seeing that or controlling that without calling in. IBM / Softlayer should fix that so that I have to give permission or at least can opt out once I start getting emails. I could enter anyone's email address in there and get flooded with system announcements.

I love the support/web dev companies that contact me with no opt out using gmail accounts. They change the from address each time but not the sales pitch.
