Got the appraisal back on my house - they're appraising it at what I asked for the loan on, so looks like In 10 Days I'll own a home !
But for now, Coffee number 1 day, grabbing #2 and going through the weekend stuff -
Bought a "non booting" switch console. See if i can fix it up

Switch console? Was that supposed to be serial console? Yes, I actually used serial consoles in the bad old days.

Thought I had a Covid test scheduled today, now I've got a call that the scheduler says nothing is available today. I'm the only travelling tech for the company I'm working for right now. Kinda putting a big monkey wrench in the works at work.

Gee you live in a cold place. It's cold here but not 1c, maybe 6c.

re-purposing an old 2012 server that ran as a DC and with RDS.
working on it remotely, demoted the DC and it reboots, can't log back in remotely, everything else looks fine, no way to get back in.
1.75 hour round trip to find that I should have removed the RDS role prior to the DC, removed RDS and all good. -

enter-pssession serverAnd then, depending on the server, https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/remotedesktop/remove-rdserver or https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/remotedesktop/remove-rdsessionhost.
A properly configured WinRM gpo is invaluable, and it should be among the first thing you configure for working remotely.
