                @thanksajdotcom One small doubt.Can I install the jre package which I downloaded from the internet either installing the steps you have mentioned to download the JDK .

                  I don't even think you have to install it. Once extracted you just have to add that path to your user PATH. I think AJ explained that in the last thread.

                          Extracting it is the entire install. We showed him this, that he had successfully installed it on the other thread. He never responded and just kept trying to run apt-get to install a DEB package that we kept telling him didn't exist.

                              I gave him line by line steps for EXACTLY what to do. I don't mind repeating myself if something isn't fully understood or if someone missed something, but I do not like that he asks a question, ignores the answer, and then just re-asks the same questions.
