Lots of email spam after registering new domain

I created a new domain with godaddy last week and now I'm getting a lot of spam emails to the WHOIS email contact, It's privatized but you can still email is using the proxy email I guess.

I've never had this issue before with any domain with with normal or private registration. The only difference is Goddaddy is involved for this one, No others have been. So are spammers just using a new method with WHOIS data or is godaddy selling your information?

Almost all of the emails revolve around trying to get you to buy their web design services. One of them was phising email saying I needed to do something on some random site in order not to loose my domain.

This is all using the WHOIS email, there is no emails listed on the site, just a contact form and that has not been spammed yet.

I've seen those with new registrations for a while, but those all were not using the private registration stuff.

Yep, I see it frequently with .com domains. - Whether through Godaddy or someone else, I think they just use who.is

There are automated spam systems that watch for new registrations and just start spamming when they see them created.

I am talking about the email you received in particular. I have received emails from the same company
