@scottalanmiller Also, using just using the root domain name for the conf file name is potentially confusing depending on how much you are hosting.

Even for my gaming website, I have a bunch of sub domains setup.

www.daerma.com.conf goes to the root and www.
    oc.daerma.com.conf is owncloud
    obelisk.daerma.com.conf is my nodeBB forum

That does not even get into what do you do about the ones that you have multiple TLD names for such as .it, .com, .org, etc.

@mlnews said in Fedora 25 Beta Released:

Replace Fedora distro ISO downloads with Fedora Media Writer. Instead of simply downloading an ISO, this multi-platform tool automatically downloads the installation ISO images and use them to create a bootable USB drive or DVD disc.

They already have that. Hopefully you can still download the ISO.

@emsanator said in Installing Guacamole on CentOS 7:

    Hi, I get this error:

    404 Not Found - 192.168.1.76:8080/guacamole/CLIENT.URL_OSK_LAYOUT

    What would be the reason?
    Thanks

Is that error causing any issues? The thread below talks about this error, and says that it is fine:

Also, my SSH server was disabled after install. Seems they took after Ubuntu on that one.

Gah, the evil is sneaky in this one. That would have been a very unpleasant surprise.

Ya luckily I was just downstairs and not somewhere else trying to get in.

The "working data" that I mentioned that scrolls by quickly before our summary chart appears from this example looks like the below output. Generally we can ignore this, but it can be useful should there be an error to see where something has gone wrong.

How secure is running a DE in the Dom0 though?

    Are they running it there?

    Ya.

Dom0 is sort of a system domain separate from the default domains and any other domains you create. The desktop manager runs in this domain. Your login credentials reside there. Much like a super domain, Dom0 is more trusted than any other domain.

It provides just two functions: It runs the window manager and the desktop manager.

Just make a new partition, don't worry about extending the existing one.

When you are talking about Ubuntu, you're talking about admins using it.. not home users. As such the lack of new things making would never be acceptable to home users - they are constantly looking for new things.. and if they can't find it in the normal store.. they will go elsewhere if it's possible at all.

I've never met those home users. What things are they looking for? I rarely see home users install anything but malware. All they use are web browsers.

For home laptop use (non-gaming) be sure to check out PC-BSD. It's screaming fast, super stable and very responsive.

In this particular article it was a solid, but not fastest, performer in the transcoding benchmarks they ran, which were about as close to web serfing and video watching. PC-BSD is the fastest bar none if you're compiling software or iops intensive workloads.
