Lots of features but much cleaner than Unity for sure and still clean for GNOME. GNOME was always my favorite. Heck, my taskbar still resides at the top because it just feels more comfortable there. I credit running Ubuntu solely for at least two years for that little ditty. Started at 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon. Good times...mind drifts off into nostalgia

I'm new to Tizen. Had to look it up. Appears to be an Android competitor built also on Linux. But this one made by the Linux Foundation itself.

What book was that? GRUB was deprecated around 2008.

I think this thread must have picked up a few buzzwords along the way. Buzz word. Buzzword. Buzzy fuzzy word...

It seems to me like the new iproute2 tools are more powerful, at least according to some articles I've seen... and they have been around since 1999 according to Wikipedia, lol.

This is the Unreal engine. So tons of games will be based on that.

I think that they remain pretty tough for developers still too. Although a more traditional Linux desktop will be great for that. Mint, OpenSuse or Fedora make awesome development workstations.

I told @mike-ralston that downloading any Linux isos via mirrors is not a good idea. Torrents for those are infinitely faster and more reliable.

I'm actually looking forward to this LTS as a possible every day desktop for myself. I've never been fully on board with taking the plunge, but the increasing irrelevance of the underlying OS is making using a stable and secure platform that much more attractive to me.
