Just received an email about this since I'm on an eligible 365 plan. They are rolling this out in the next few weeks to all users with an Office 365 Enterprise E1–E5, Business Essentials, Premium and Education subscription plan. I've been looking around for a decent online project management tool that can organize tasks into groups or projects, and then assign those tasks to users or groups as well. Basically a really dumbed down version of MS Project. This fits the bill, and is included with an eligible 365 plan. Win/Win.

      Planner overview

      Thoughts?

@Minion-Queen From the looks of it, it looks similar to the way Visual Studio Online operates with their "Sprints." I'm definitely going to give it a try, as I always have a ton of different tasks related to many different projects, but not a great way to visualize it in a way I like.

I have not seen it yet. On the train with @Minion-Queen so won't get to look at it for a while.

So I have it now, but it is not all that obvious how to use it. And only I have it, @Minion-Queen does not.

I'm sure it's got some cool value, just wish that they made it a little more obvious what you were supposed to do with it.

It looks pretty simple after I watched their video on it. Once I get it I plan on digging into it and will post updates here.

It showed up in mine yesterday.

Looks interesting. I've been looking for a way to more easily track projects and stuff.

I technically could have had it last week.

I like local apps, so I rarely log onto the web interface.

                                  The outlook plugin is a one-time $20, I think?

I started testing it this week and plan to use it next week to give it a good run through. So far, I like it for what it is... A very basic, simple task manager where I can put tasks into "buckets" and assign them if necessary. Free is in my budget as well, so win/win.

Free if you have O365, right?

At least certain plans, yes. We are on E3 and it just showed up. Not sure which plans get it.

I meant that you have to have some level of O365 first.

Not like it is just totally free.

Right, we have business essentials which costs 5 bucks a month, and we have Planner. And email, and share point. All for 5 bucks.
