Yes, just add the game as a non-Steam game to Steam and you can configure the controller inside of Big Picture Mode and launch it. That's how I've been playing Minecraft.

 Here we go again http://lifehacker.com/you-can-break-into-a-linux-system-by-pressing-backspace-1748370796 I'm sure most people would use the grub rescue shell and not stick a USB live image in or just take the hard drive. I mean you can even change the root password on a Red Hat system if you have physical access, and it's built in as a function...
