I've only been here for a month so I haven't really had a chance to really know him but he enjoyed whiskey so we talked about that at length. He seemed like a great guy and a fair boss from what everyone at the company ever told me about him. It's strange to try and just go through the day "business as usual" knowing that there is this elephant in the room but nobody really wants to talk about it quite yet.

That guy isn't even clear how to use a server. I'm honestly not sure he's familiar with LANs or anything. He's definitely in his first rodeo.

I'm not certain of what the MadEagle is specifically needing, besides what was put in the OP, which is to host a few services, Wiki Site and file Shares.
A LANless design probably would work out well for him and save a ton of initial investment.

Likely a LOT of things would serve him better than whatever he is doing. He is in so far over his head I don't think he likely can determine his needs enough to even present to us what is potentially needed for a solution.

I always wonder how these people post pictures of their datacenters on social media. I don't go in them often at all as a sys admin but, none of ours allow pictures/cameras. Some don't even allow cell phones.
