just cleared out one of our storerooms...apparently it's going to be redone and will be our new office... 😕

Don't feel bad, my office is the shipping dock.

hah at least you get fresh air...the room is about 2-2.5 metres wide, and about 6-7 metres long...3 of us will be in it with 3 main desks, 2 build desks and full shelves along one of the walls...cost to say the least! Hopefully they'll have a ventilation system :')

Yeah it'll be a rectal vent, it's gonna smell great in there...

yeah :') but apparently we're gonna get a new biometric system on the door...and we'll probably rig up a sound system inside as we're separated off from everyone else... 😉

I don't have my own department per se so when space is needed in a department we play tetris and try to fit me somewhere

I'm lucky that 95% of my co-workers are women so I don't deal with a lot of smelly people or bad smells in general. The perfume does toy with my allergies though 😞

Any recommendations for good monitors with built-in speakers?

HP Envy 32" It's "only" 2560x1440, but that's about the perfect resolution for something it's size when figuring in my poor eye sight. It's actually the main monitor I have at home.

I have some Hannspree monitors that have built in speakers. They were inexpensive 27" monitors. Good quality for the price although the speakers left a lot to be desired.

The best built-in speakers are still just shiny turds.

                          That's exactly what he means.

I'm more than a little crazy with my setup at home. I've got a high end HP monitor that has built in speakers, but I only used them once because they were the most recent audio device to be plugged in "Why is all the audio tinny?". Most of the time I use a Logitech 2.1 setup, but I've also got an HDMI cable plugged into the home theater system. 600watts into an Alex Jones Signature series 5.1 system is just pure bliss.

Ha nice. I used to have a Philips tuner/amp that I ran everything through with 5.1, but I never set it up when we moved back. I just have a 2.1 system, I think it's a mediocre logitech one. I mostly use my Philips Uptown headphones though.

I'm cheap, if you couldn't tell lol.

If you visit a place like AVSForum, they'd tell you that that's the "cheap", "entry-level" home theater speakers.

Dell has some nifty two piece ones where the speakers fit into a nice dovetail on the bottom of the monitor. For the money they're good, but that wasn't much money if you get the drift.

I have a speaker bar for my Dell monitor here. It works pretty well for webex's and presentations.

Pretty sure thats the one I'm thinking of. Just an inch or two thick, goes below the monitor into a neat little clip on deal-y. Yeah they're fine for boring vanilla work stuff but if you wish to enjoy music look elsewhere.
