BTW this clone is bipping along at 40MBps and dropping. (USB3.) Wondering is that is normal. That is what I am currently doing.
-
Down to 33.3 MBps. Wonder why. Dangit I wanted to get out of here. Why is this taking so long?????????
-
Maybe you are getting to slower parts of the drives or you have eaten up some of the cache?

@Reid-Cooper said in What Are You Doing Right Now: Maybe you are getting to slower parts of the drives or you have eaten up some of the cache? It's a USB stick writing to a SSD. Still entirely possibly a caching issue though. I just hope it doesn't go belly up. Maybe it's tired. It IS Thursday after all.

24.3. I might be here all night.
-
I know the feeling, and I have to drive the family to Utica tonight yet. And we've not even thought about what we are going to do for dinner.

@scottalanmiller said And we've not even thought about what we are going to do for dinner. Soup (or cereal) is always the go-to in our house in those scenarios.
-
Finally done cloning. Verify is now running at 116 MBps. Please server, boot back up. PLEASE!!!!!!!!

 54 minutes to clone a 64GB USB3 stick.

@BRRABill said in What Are You Doing Right Now: 54 minutes to clone a 64GB USB3 stick. That's not really that horrible of a number. USB sticks don't tend to be all that fast.

I am teaching @DustinB3403 well... side bar convo... Me: You should see MY lab. Dustin: you havent seen your lab, if you have you arent a Sys Admin! Me: It's true, I've not seen it either.
-
Holy cow, it came back up with no problems. I'll test the clone some other day. Time to get home for some leftover dinner!

@scottalanmiller said XS for the win! My next test will be to purposely hose my test machine. If I can bring a crashed XS back without much difficulty, it will definitely have my undying love.

Just did a daily question - and I'm intrigued to see what everyone else thinks/would choose: "You are starting a company and, instead of going the traditional route and hosting your web server in-house, you have decided to build and test your web application in a cloud environment. What kind of cloud service would best meet your needs?
 -SaaS
 -DaaS
 -PaaS
 -IaaS"
