So now I'm really missing having a lab and playing with Linux, CLI, setting up cron jobs, using VI to play with config files, etc... I need to get back into that. I'd pick it right back up but I'm feeling rusty...

That's a really good idea... I didn't even think about that.
LOL, I warned them that you could do it and that you could have a Ghost user who had never posted a single time. People told me I was stupid and that the spice points represent community involvement.
So on a Sunday afternoon hanging out with @bsouder in three hours I wrote a program that totally automated Spiceworks and went through their RESTful API and went thread by thread up voting everything. The very first post made by that user was "Hey, guess who I am." as a Ghost. Not one single post, review or anything prior to being Ghost. Three hours of effort only.
And that's why you max out at 11 points from spicing things per day.

I also know how, but never did it because it would make a mess, to have a script take hundreds of thousands of old SW posts, copy one at random, and post it onto the end of each thread. So if spicing up once on each thread gets you a lot of points, imagine what posting to each thread would do! 10x the points, just as fast. And almost impossible to catch because it is real posts, each one different.
