She's also not using it on our washing machine (the one for clothes)Well, clothes aren't something you want to to just sit in the machine when the load it done, so there's a significant difference.
If your dishwasher is close to your bedroom, I suppose the delay would be something you wouldn't want.
In my case, the dishwasher is near where I watch TV. I don't want it running while I'm watching TV, but my bed room is a long ways away, so running at 2 AM is great, can't hear it, does not wake us up.Becci: Honey, no! And also don't think about installing Linux on the dishwasher.

Becci: Honey, no! And also don't think about installing Linux on the dishwasher.Hmpf.
So you don't want the beeping, but she doesn't want you to kill the beeping.. you are sunk bro.
