I'm evil when people don't listen to me. I'd hit them with a minimum 8 hour emergency rate, and make all other billable hours billable in minimum increments of two hours at the emergency rate.

Reserved my spot at the work Christmas lunch.

They make you RSVP for that?

        For catering 🙂

Found this quote on FreeNAS' main page: "ZFS is designed for data integrity from top to bottom. RAID-Z, the software RAID that is part of ZFS, offers single parity protection like RAID 5, but without the “write hole” vulnerability thanks to the copy-on-write architecture of ZFS." Um, this is exactly why I dislike FreeNAS stuff. This is old, common knowledge and they got it wrong. This is pretty basic. It's variable striping that does that. Copy on Write is a totally different mechanism. Argh.

OSSIM rocks! If you can get some network traffic to it via a SPAN port, you'll be able to see all kinds of neat things.

Subaru Outback caveat #1: In the wagon, if you turn on the rear defroster, it completely jams the FM reception. That is all.

Kids just came in to open their first day on their Playmobile advent calendar. It's a tradition around here.

Selling some stuff on eBay like DSLR lenses, DDR2 RAM etc.

I always forget how much work it is to create the auctions.
