Don't forget Henry Ford who promoted a lot of the ideas that Hitler took to fruition. Hitler was worse, clearly, but mostly only because he wasn't an impotent chick shit and because he was later, but Hitler was really following to the words of Ford in a lot of regards. But no one (basically) reveres Hitler, but loads of people think that Ford was awesome. That anyone would dare keep his name on a company today shows how much people disregard the things that he wanted to happen in his lifetime.

That fact doesn't make Edison not an arsehole. In fact, he's one of the biggest pieces of sh!t ever to be revered by American society.
The biggest goes to Columbus, IMO.
I guess genocide does edge out killing animals to discredit your competition... but not by a huge margin.
I'd guess that Columbus just had more opportunity for genocide. I'm pretty sure Edison would have used that should he have had ample opportunity.

Tomatoes. Peppers should be sprouting soon. I don't live in a forward thinking state that would let me grow my own weed.
