Looking at Sharepoint tutorials to see if I could make use of it with my LLC, since I have a one-license subscription to Office 365 Business Premium.

One license? As in a single user?

Correct. User = me. I've never used Sharepoint before, so I figure I can use this to poke around and learn.

SP is pretty useless as a one user solution. It's function is sharing.

Yeah. As I'm poking around I see that. Looks great for making an Intranet for an organization, or possibly replacing file servers that are mainly serving document files.

It looks like you could set up a site where you give a customer access should you have the need to collaborate with them on documents.

Honestly is a much bigger hastle than its worth. Unless you're putting in many hundreds of man hours, id find a better solution.

That's what I'm seeing. Right now I share OneNote notebooks from OneDrive with students. Trying to do the same kind of thing through Sharepoint doesn't seem like it's worth the effort.

Plus, I have other learning objectives on my plate (RHCSA study), I ought to stay focused.

I'll agree but say find a "simpler" solution. SP is very good, just insanely complex. It's meant for big teams with big, complex needs.

Ugh, we use OneNote at NTG, it's made me detest MS Office. The drive to OneNote has made me want to ban SharePoint, OneNote, and MS Office entirely. Between OneNote and Exchange I've become convinced that no one using Microsoft Office products does any work.

Ha! My goal was to stop using paper for my students' lesson sheets (which are sheets of handwritten comments and exercises), and since I have this Business Premium subscription, giving OneNote a spin, since I have an ipad.

While it's pretty easy for me to use, methinks it's a bit of a hassle for my students and their parents to get to the content, since none of them (obviously) are users within my organization.

There are a couple of things I'm thinking through for possible roll out in January.

                          1. Better electronic lesson sheet sharing method.
                          2. Self-service system for scheduling lessons. Current method is student's parents and I agreeing to times over E-mail, I add the dates to my calendar, and send them a calendar invite as a confirmation.

At some point, I'll probably make a thread about this to spur discussion and ideas, rather than clogging "What Are You Doing Right Now"

You could host a WordPress site and allow your customers to have access, and post their stuff on it for only them to access.

Or something along those lines anyways...

Just make sure to secure it well. My blog and other websites have been 100% solid for a long time now, all WP, including my wife's.
