Strange, I have done this fairly recently and it was about 15 minutes, which included restoring the backup.

UPS, FedEx, and DHL software were always a pain in the arse at the best of times.

Apparently a person who shares my last name and has a rewards number nothing like mine had a reservation under my name and rewards number but (luckily) with none of my credit cards. IHG had caught the error by the time I called, and had a note explaining the problem (human error) and that everything had been fixed.
