KVM - I created a storage pool in /home/VMs. Do you create a Volume for each VM? Seems like there is an unnecessary extra step if you don't use the defaults. If you create a default 20Gb volume for each VM, it seems like you are choosing the size again when going through the steps. Maybe I'm over-complicating it or just too used to Hyper-V.

Are you using Cockpit or virt-manager, then let the tool take care of it.

Finishing touches on new system going in at a concert hall - and of course they want to do the Go Live during a show . . . in 2 weeks.

That's fancy. And... no pressure there lol

        Right! Come on ...
They have a low level event - Like trivia I think next Tuesday the original install date, but the owner wants to be there for the install and Go live.

Edit It's a Bar - that holds Concerts. They call themselves a Concert hall because most of what they do is all ages shows.

Less fancy. I was thinking where the philharmonic plays lol

@travisdh1 started with virt-manager. Trying to get familiar with it.

It's good stuff. Cockpit is getting there, but not quite as useful yet.

Yeah I setup the first of 4 servers that I got from @scottalanmiller with Fedora 29 as a KVM host the other day. Hence my topic regarding copy & paste earlier.

@DustinB3403 I installed KVM on F29 and 2 F29 VMs. Virt-manager seems clunky at first. Just have to get more time in with it. The guests ran fine and I also moved the .qcow2 files and imported them back in as a test. No issues. I also had trouble with copy/paste in the guests.

Yeah, running in a terminal from virt-manager isn't great, I normally ssh in instead of opening the console window.

@brandon220 I only had enough time to setup 1 guest, F29 Desktop as I had other things to deal with last night. But the interface was pretty smooth sailing from my perspective.

Desktop wise, the console window from virt-manager is fine. The default text based console does suck, too much like the old serial terminals.

The text terminal is where I was attempting to perform the wget <insert copied url to iso> and having those copy/paste issues.

I eventually just went and ssh'd in and performed the same command. It was just irritating and I was hoping to be able to use it without issue. But it seems Winblows has some sort of hissy fit there. .

Relaxing after my traumatic trip home. Got a flat tire.
Couldn't work out where the jack point on the car was. Tried phoning the Garage at work but all had gone home 😪. Phoned the boss as I knew he was still in as we're replacing the phone system. So a colleague came to help. In the mean time the farmer where I was parked came and helped. So after 30mins I was in my way.

Problem is now in the morning need to buy new tires 😪😪😪 good job it's pay day tomorrow
