Virtual Desktops are your friend. Easy to set up if you use Linux... Use VirtuaWin if you use Windows.

@dafyre I know you can do that and i do at times but its just clunkier than having a 3rd monitor. Think I'm going to do this today

Three montitors are nice. For me: Left is for most things. middle is for chrome. Right is for powershell, network monitoring etc

I love my 3rd monitor. When I was sick and had to work with only 1 it was the worst.

@murpheous Yeah I agree. My right one is an always on Win10 vm which only leaves left monitor for all things Fedora. I'm like you, I need a 3rd for scripts and such things. Right now I'm using a seperate pc for that but my workstation is much faster so I really just want it all on one.

As someone who has gone from 4 screens around 19" down to 1 x 34" Screen (+using virtual desktops), I find that having more than 1 screen actually increases eye strain. Your eyes have to readjust every time you look at one of your other monitors.
3 monitors is my sweet spot. Any more than that and windows tend to get lost, ha ha.
