@scottalanmiller no idea what movie that is, but now I feel a sudden urge to crack that guy in the throat with a cricket bat.

That's a REALLY famous movie. "Bring It On"

And that single frame makes me glad I never saw it.

yea I tried to watch it, it was hot garbage

Bring It On is actually good. If you like campy teen movies. It's by far one of the best. The sequels are ridiculous, of course. But the original had a stellar cast and was a pretty important industry influencer (hence inclusion in NATM which itself was the foundation of a genre.)

And those parodies are hilarious, but when the subject of a parody is so utterly lacking depth, the viewer can absorb the original film's message by only watching the parody. It's much easier on the viewer's constitution.

@valentina But not another teen movie is HILARIOUS

Yeah it is, and SO well written (and acted.) Nothing that followed it came close. They defined the genre and set the standard. They almost seamlessly blend like ten movies of the era and manage to showcase how ridiculous the late 90s teen movie craze was while making a standalone film that was excellent. The only bad parts were around the complete unfunny, fart joke of a character played by Randy Quaid. Had they cut him, it would have been so much better.

NATM includes at least these movies in it...

          American Beauty
          American Pie
          She’s All That
          The Breakfast Club
          Varsity Blues
          Cruel Intentions
          Pretty in Pink
          Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
          Risky Business
          Can’t Hardly Wait
10 Things I Hate About You
          Grease
          Footloose
          Dazed and Confused
          Fast Times at Ridgemont High
          Porkys
          Rudy
          Road Trip
          Sixteen Candles
          Never Been Kissed
          Bring It On
          Mean Girls

With SAT being the obvious framework used for the basic plot.

It's a parody of the parody. It's the scene when she goes from "nice girl" to "goth girl" to get in the hot tube with Marilyn Mason.

NOthing in the video is FROM the movie, but it is the cast of the movie shooting new scenes just for the video. So they don't all play the same characters exactly.

Just found out that Nick Mason, Pink Floyd's original drummer, is touring. Playing Syd Barrett era stuff. And tickets are $180. I hate to admit that I'm actually considering it.

So, if I'm running a home lab, would I want to do something like this other than to learn how or even just for cool factor? Does it mean that I'd have to 'up the voltage' and get a mega video card or something else that would show my ignorance?

@scotth it's entirely up to you if you would want to do this or not. I have dedicated servers in a Datacenter and have my own lab server at home and look after a couple of rds environments so this subject matter is of interest to me. What equipment are you running in your lab?

Proliant ML150G6 Dual Xeon Quad Core E5540 48GB RAM P410 Array Controller (No Cache battery). I just haven't bought one yet. Old box, I know. I picked it up for $750 with 6 2TB drives
VDI is something that I've heard about for years and have never taken the time to learn about other than how to spell it.
I have a 2GB Asus NVidia based card in it and GPU passthrugh is available in the settings. I've just never had the time to play with it.
Running XCP-NG 7.4. I have XO from sources and XCP-NG Center running. Been trying to update it for weeks. Life interferes. FreeNAS backup target. Linksys 48 Port GB switch. Picked that up for 50 bucks from a phone guy friend that takes care of one of our offices. Plus he recycles electronics -- no charge. If anyone is in NE Ohio, I'll pass along a request.
