Seems MORE likely that Lenovo would make a casual error like that, then a counterfitter would given that Lenovo has very little riding on getting the date right, but a counterfitter does
Or it could be that the rest of the world uses year/month/day...

Well not the rest of the wprld, but a number of places do.
Also YMD makes it way the fuck easier when looking in a list. shit is all properly by date.

I use YMD as a part of my general file naming convention. It works beautifully
