but is this possible to do in a network?

Yes. It is weird to do for anything in your sized environments, but perfectly normal networking.

I probably should have started my own thread about this.

Use this website to play with CIDR networking..
              http://www.subnet-calculator.com/cidr.php

You can see that the 192.168.1.0/23 can access anything from 192.168.0.0 - 192.168.1.255 which falls within the 192.168.0.0/16

              d49c3aed-cf40-4a7c-8cbb-8356e858f6b6-image.png

The thing to be aware of is that anything in the /23 and only access the stuff int the /23 range. so they default gateway of the /16 better also be within the /23

But then knowing how much you fucked around with networks with no gateway, this guy likely is going realyl weird.

my suggestion was to make sure the gateway was on /23 subnet and this was his response

Celebration time!!!! FINALLY got a lump sum payment from my short term disability insurance!!! They have been fucking me around for months trying to deny my claim. They still owe me 3 weeks, but at least I can breathe again. And I've been going to band rehearsal, feeling way more positive about playing music and life in general.

Just wait for the service fee of having to "cut the check" as it nears 90% of what they wrote the check out for - the bastards!

Oh they already took out plenty in fees. The amount per week is insulting. But I'm back to being able to melt faces with my guitar, so it's all win over here.

And apparently - it's a good time to get into Fedora and Docker.... Because - I know nothing of them.
