Been a weekend I don’t wish to repeat though it hasn’t been terrible.

Dad (85 yo) fell Friday and broke his hip. Surgery yesterday to replace went well. And is in good spirits other wise… it’s difficult being so far away should he need more help.

Fortunately the house has no stairs once inside,.. and that and PT should do okay in recovery.

A lot to do,.. a lot done,.. and zero work stress!

well the bootcamped mac has finally been replaced with a dell inspiron 1650. not a bad machine. build quality isn't bad, not up to the mac standard, but neither is the price.

so far so good. only gripe i have is that when doing not a lot and listening to streaming music i get that buffering/staggering sound occassionally. i got the i5 with 16gb. maybe i should have got the i7. too late now.

@siringo I can't find "dell inspiron 1650" are you sure it's correct model number?

could be a wireless issue, not a processor one - or the HDD, etc..

sitting in a slightly darkened room starting tuesday.
milder than it should be. 'they' say it's going to be a warmer winter than usual with less rain.

had the 2 yearly pay review last week. got an extra buck twenty an hour, so that's an extra 0.60 per hour extra for the past 2 years.

i was earning more in the 90s. anyone else in that bag?

yeah, it sucks. too late for me to do anything about that unfortunately, i got other plans for my life now, which is good, less IT, more life.

Been a trip since getting into this renovated building. Different challenges and new setups. Working on making adjustments to the new door access systems. Learning a decent bit on these new systems and been fun.

I just went full-tilt slash and burn on some old DNS records. Did it manually because 85% of that subnet is about to be repopulated with new systems. Felt really good to watch the list shrink to 8 or 9 entries.
