Finally figuring out how to get my Amcrest video doorbells actually working with Shinobi.

      Nice!

How does Shinobi compare with ZM? I haven't had a chance to test out Shinobi yet. ZM works good enough for my home stuff.

I've never really used either before.

My attempt at figuring out the Amcrest doorbell use with Shinobi hasn't panned out so well. Frustrating when I can view the feed in VLC easily.

It took me a minute to get my ancient camera hooked up to ZM, but once I figured it out, it's worked great.

Guess I'll give ZoneMinder a shot as well.

Hooray!!!! My front porch steps are getting replaced this morning!!! I heard some crazy, smashing sounds coming from outside and realized that my buddy has started today instead of tomorrow.

So after working with both Shinobi and ZoneMinder for a couple of days, Shinobi was the clear winner for me.

I never got the previews working in ZoneMinder for some reason. Probably not going to pursue ZM any further since Shinobi is now working how I want it to.

Cool. That's the big part 😄 I'll have to pick up Shinobi for one of my next projects.

Here's a little Friday win - got a message from our development director asking if I had changed anything on server X today. Apparently, some task that used to take over an hour completed in less than 20 minutes today. All I did was update the 25GbE networking drivers on Monday.

Whatever, the network gods have smiled upon my systems this day!

Waiting for my tea to be ready. Today seems like a good day to get some gardening done

I wish my veggie garden was bigger this year... I got a late start, so I just have 1 pepper plant (tabasco) in a big, ceramic pot. She even has a rolling cart, to come in out of the rain.

Putting off the work I need to do for work I sorta want to do but really shouldn't be doing when all the other work needs to be done.

Dug up a desktop for testing - rather have something newer with a little more memory and CPU,.. but ProxMox is installed and waiting for me to work on it. SSH works,.. not done anything else. In theory, this will free up / allow for retirement of the current UI controller, rPi 3dprinter and allow me to add a SDR receiver / recorder...

I’ve only got a jalapeño plant at the moment,
Can’t eat chillies the way I used to 🙁

I've definitely been eating fewer superhots lately. I'll probably be pickling most of what I harvest this year, and I might cheat a little towards end of season - grow lights are so cheap now!

@gjacobse The rain won't last long, according to the "weather guessers". We do need it, though.
