Windows 10 1607 Anniversary update

Anyone here upgrade yet? Likes, Dislikes?
I know something I need to do ASAP now is upgrade my WSUS server to 2012 (maybe even 2012 R2) so it will support Windows 10 1607.

My system no longer tells me that Windows Updates are managed by my administrator - ug.. did MS kill WSUS for Windows 10 Pro?
I can't find any proof of this yet.

So far no issues here, but I'm using it VERY little and on top of VirtualBox.

I hope that's the case - though MS is supposed to be having some kind of online WSUS for small businesses to use to manage updates. Forcing all updates on everyone should be a HOME USER only thing. Paying for Pro should have some benefits.. but they seem to be becoming less and less....
MS's new model, monthly charges for everything... they are starting to nickle and dime us to death.
Of course now someone will jump in and say that O365 is still cheaper than self hosted - which considering the benefits is true, but most SMBs (regardless of what they say about their needed reliability) rarely spent that much on their systems, and their short cuts often saved them money over a hosted solution, while putting them at a slightly greater risk factor.

Well, what most SMBs do causes most of them to fail and go out of business. Very, very often it is far more important to protect customers from themselves, especially in the SMB space, than to allow them to gauge their own risk and reward needs. Remember that failing or failed customers earn MS no money, so catering to them has no value.

Mine upgraded by itself last night as I was working on it. Some nice feature enhancements and some UI changes. It felt a lot faster last night but that may have been because I put new thermal paste on all the things.

Some of my wsus clients running windows 10 pro dont seem to follow my wsus rules anymore. They just decide to install updates in the middle of the day, rather than a friday night like i have set up. Total bs.

Guess I need to fire up the home laptop and tablet for the upgrade. I just got those 2 machines on Win 10 on like 7/28.

At home running w10 pro the Anniversary Update is good. Though Task Manager still doesnt report cpu frequency correctly for me(oc'd 4930k); it is off by 450MHZ. I wish i was running at 4.45Ghz on stock volts like task manager says, but im only @ 4Ghz.
The notification thing sits to the right of the clock now, which is a bit odd. -

Yes it's true, I now have to upgrade to Enterprise if I want to keep the MS advertising arm at bay - I consider this a nickle and a dime. We've never had advertising before in an OS from MS (that I'm aware of), and now we do, everything from Office to full blown games. At least in the past, the games weren't front and center, now they smack you across the face.
Please, Please PLEASE tell me why this is needed to be the Pro version of Windows? You want to do that shit in the Home edition, fine - but the pro? Again, just more forcing/pushing people to the Enterprise edition.

By advertising, do you mean Store apps that show up in the menu?

yeah, it's not really installed, it's tags into the Windows Store so you CAN install it - but come on, is there really that much of a difference?
I did say Ads, not malware... so it's not crap crapping up your system... it's an ad, more like an ad in the newspaper, expect this ad makes it SUPER easy for you to click and then install it if you want.

The one and only VM that runs Windows 10 here killed it's own boot sector in the update. Made for some bad days.... the rest of the data is fine, just to confuse me. Did it every time I tried to update the system
