From a marketing perspective, my issue with the email is the perceived bonus you get for having an UNLIMITED account (I have one too). We are not getting any bonus for free, its included in the word Unlimited, at least according to the Oxford Dictionary.

What does the Oxford Dictionary say? The word unlimited doesn't imply anything regarding audio quality.

      Oxford says the following:
"not limited or restricted in terms of number, quantity, or extent."

My view is that the HD would be included in the "extent" part of the definition. So if streaming music tech has spread/extended to HD, it should be included as part of the Unlimited account.

I think I agree. For example, if you had quality limits and opened up better quality you might say that you now offer "unlimited quality" or "unlimited quality options."

@dashrender like I asked before, what are they supposed to do?

I want links in e-mails from my subscription providers. I don't want to have to navigate around the portal trying to find something just because some people don't like links.

Except the Skyetel Enroll Now! button does not go to Skyetel.

        It goes to list-manage.com

Ever wonder why the competition is so cheap....

The vendor that got a large account from us, and honestly they've been great to work with for handover up till now, asked us today to train them on how to manage phone systems as "part of the handover process"... three weeks after our engagement with the account had ended.

            Um.... what? No.

They needed training on things like "how to log in" and "how to add a new user" and "how to attach a phone."

For the record, this is FreePBX running totally vanilla, that we didn't even set up!

Nothing like having a brand new $10,000 IoT device that has now 'crashed' and is outside of the scope of IT for support - and IT has to support it.... oFFS!

What IoT device costs $10k? A medical camera -

There is a sizable discussion about medical devices and IoT devices on the network.... Since there isn't a vLAN for them,.. Should there be as it's a point of attack and PHI leak.

Hell yes there should be - I'd go so far as to say they should likely be isolated from each other as much as possible.
                        Medical devices are rarely updated.

We replaced our CT machine 2 years ago - I really pushed hard to make sure they bought a machine with a modern, supported, supportable OS. All machine except one came with Windows 7, this was like 6 months before EOL of Windows 7. And our old CT machine, purchased in 2007 came with Windows 2000 and was never updated.

Today I maintain a Radiology network that is completely isolated from everything else - it's literally as isolated as it can get up to the connection at the DMARK.

DMARK - switch - multiple firewalls (corp, guest, radiology), then each branch out from there.

I know this isn't the best - someone on the guest could try to use all the bandwidth, but I do have that firewall limited on it's connection to the DMARK.

Generally yes. Medical devices rarely pass any security rigor and should always be seen as enemy objects on the network.

If anyone's curious, this is the end of the story.

@eddiejennings why are you on Reddit? Avoid that. It's nothing but idiots with bad advice. There's no value there. It's just the new Yahoo Answers. If I found candidates posting there, I'd question their sanity. It's not like Spiceworks or here, it's not an IT community.

I've actually found a lot of useful information on there.

It might exist, but it is so lost in the sea of stupidity. The signal to noise ratio is horrible.

As have I, but not often. Sometimes posts on Reddit provide a little nugget of information that leads me to finding a better source.

I don't spend a ton of time on reddit, but I do post things from time to time if I think they'll be useful for people. And there are a few humorous things to find there :).

It's inevitable that I find the obscure thing I'm looking for that someone posted. It's usually found there or stack overflow.
